Memories of this morning are very clear because it was so cold! I was up before dawn and headed into the valley near Les Houches in anticipation of snow in the trees and a very heavy frost, and wasn’t disappointed, giving a wonderful contrast to the warmth of the rising sun behind the Aiguille du Midi.
