The end of summer and it was raining hard, and very cloudy as we climbed the path up the mountainside. Just as I had given up hope of capturing anything that day, the mist cleared to reveal this minimalist view of the Aiguille du Midi cable cars suspended in front of the rock face above Chamonix, a unique photograph that uses white space to convey the scale and beauty of the scene.
