The Grandes Jorasses in the Mont Blanc massif, photographed in black and white as wind whips clouds along the famous ridge while the remainder of the massif is hidden by cloud.

The Grandes Jorrasses is one of the most formidable peaks in the Mont Blanc massif, standing as a dramatic sentinel on the French-Italian border. Towering at 4,208 meters (13,806 feet), it is renowned for its steep, glaciated faces and challenging climbs. The north face, in particular, is legendary in the mountaineering world, ranking alongside the Eiger and the Matterhorn as one of the great alpine north faces. First summited in 1868 by Horace Walker and his team, the Grandes Jorasses continues to inspire climbers with its mix of technical routes, unforgiving conditions, and breathtaking panoramas.

The print is sized as shown including a white border and is Giclee printed to the highest standard on 308gsm museum quality Hahnemühle Photorag fine art paper. This paper gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction and shows excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel creating smooth colour gradients.
